Graduation and Vacation

It has been a busy week! Last Saturday I finished all of my Thesis work and had the gallery opening for our show. I was so proud of my class and the amazing work that they produced. This week I have been preparing for Zach & I's trip to San Francisco, and getting ready for graduation. I cannot believe that graduation came and went so quickly, and I still cannot believe that I am done with school forever! So on Saturday May 9th at 2pm I received my Bachelors in Photography, and I couldn't have been happier.

So here it is, 12:30 in the morning, and I am writing my last post before we leave tomorrow for a week. I cannot even tell you how excited I am for our trip, Zach and I never had a honeymoon, so this is long overdue! We'll be taking two day trips to Monterey & Muir Woods, both beautiful locations that I cannot wait to go to. My dad's family if from California so I've been many times, but Zach has never gone. I cannot wait to show him all of the beautiful things! We have a jam packed schedule so hopefully that will produce some gorgeous photos.

Below are some photos from my graduation, our trip route, and some photos from my trip to Cali back in 2006. Oh, and maybe even our little stow-away ;)

I'm trying to make this as much as a vacation as possible, so unless it's urgent, I won't be answering any emails or returning calls. So please bare with me until the 17th!!

Have a wonderful start to your summer, blog world, and we'll see you when we get back!

My favorite people :)

Garrison & Elliot

A few weeks ago I photographed my very best friend's sister and her kids. Kristin was down for the weekend and asked me if we could do a mini portrait session of her boys. So early Easter morning we made our way out to the playground for me to photograph her little gremlins ;) Needless to say, they were totally hopped up on sugar. But who wouldn't be on Easter morning?

Though the session was short, and FULL of energy, we got a bunch of great images. Here are just a few of my favorites:

I love this one of the three of them :)

He loves his brother!

Lacy & Louie: Wedding

For two people who claimed to be horribly un-photogenic, Lacy and Louie made for one of my favorite weddings ever. Not only were they RIDICULOUSLY photogenic, but they had me in stitches all day, constantly making me laugh. They are the couple that I always dream of: crazy fun, photograph beautifully, and totally in love.

They got married at the Winter Park Farmer's Market in downtown Winter Park on April 5. The weather was beautiful (albeit a little hot, see photo below) and perfect for their afternoon wedding. I seriously had such an amazing time with this couple, I couldn't believe just a few months before at our first meeting that they kept telling me "We don't do photos, we're not photogenic, we don't like cameras."

The day flew by so quickly, but luckily we had some time during the choreographed dancing (no Electric Slide for these two!) to go out and take some photos around Winter Park. They rocked it out, making want to ditch their reception all together and just keep snapping away. Here's a little note from Lacy that just absolutely made my day:

"Ashley, I just wanted to thank you for taking such beautiful pictures of our wedding! Louie and I could not possibly love the pictures more--they are amazing and you did a wonderful job of capturing our all of our happiness and excitement. Also, we really appreciated how you made the picture-taking fun and relaxed (we were both kind of nervous about the whole picture-taking thing, but you were awesome and totally put us at ease). We really can't thank you enough--I'm thrilled that these are the images that we will have to remember our wedding day. Thank you so, so much! - Lacy"

Thank you, Lacy and Louie, for allowing me to be a part of your gorgeous wedding day. I am so happy that you trusted me to capture your day, despite your photography fears. ;) Congratulations on a beautiful marriage and what I know will be a beautiful life!

Gorgeous details

So cute!! They were so happy :)

This is the moment in the afternoon when it was crazy hot and the cater brought them some water. Do you see the desperation in their faces? haha I love this shot!
